Enspire Learning's Global Supply Chain Management Simulation Awarded a Rating of 3.5 out of 4 Stars in Training Media Review

The simulation was deemed a powerful e-learning solution relevant to both the corporate and academic worlds.

Austin, TX - August 31, 2004 - In its September/October 2004 Issue, Training Media Review (TMR), which has been reviewing business training content and training tools for over a decade, reviewed the Global Supply Chain Management Simulation (GSCMS) created by Enspire Learning. GSCMS received an overall rating of 3.5 out of 4 stars, with perfect 4-star ratings in the categories of “Instructional value,” “Value for the money,” and “Holds user interest.” Furthermore, TMR described the simulation as a, “highly interactive, professional web-based simulation that is fun.”

GSCMS has been a popular product in corporate training, executive education, and at business schools. It was previously recognized as one of the Top Ten Training Products of 2002 by HR Executive Magazine and awarded a Macromedia Innovation Award. Clients have ranged from Texas Instruments to Harvard Business School.

GSCMS puts the learner into the role of supply chain manager at a global cellular phone manufacturer. During each of four years the learner must select design elements, forecast demand, and choose from domestic and overseas suppliers. At the end of each year, the user enters a virtual boardroom where they are individually critiqued by board members for both their financial and decision-making acumen. GSCMS’s learning-by-doing approach, coupled with effective feedback loops, creates a highly impactful training experience.

TMR also noted that Enspire’s simulation was quite realistic, commenting that “the developers have a great ear for business conversation.” They describe the simulation as being detailed, and including various levels of decision making. TMR states that the “basic interface is clean and efficient,” and “very pleasing to the eye with good readability.”

“Once again, GSCMS has been recognized as a high quality training tool that drives real results,” commented Bjorn Billhardt, CEO of Enspire Learning. “This is no small honor. TMR has a reputation of delivering objective reviews with an eye for details and a focus on end-user experience.”

In the end, TMR concludes, “If you’re a business school, APIC-certified trainer, or a procurement or logistics manger, [we] recommend that you give serious consideration to buying this program.”
