Enspire Celebrates 10 Years of Operations

AUSTIN, TX – Dec. 6, 2011 – Enspire Learning, a leading provider of management development simulations and custom learning solutions, celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2011.

During its 10th year of creating online learning solutions, Enspire received several top industry honors, including a Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning award, first place in the Simulations Interactivity Shootout, and recognition on Training Industry’s Top 20 Content Development Companies.

Enspire celebrated its 10th anniversary with a party held on Oct. 26 at Enspire headquarters. Houndstooth Studio, Enspire’s media and experience design arm, designed motion graphics, murals, and lighting installations to commemorate the occasion.

“When I started this journey in my dorm room in Boston, I had a vision for the products we would create, the markets we would serve, and the city where we would live, but I had no idea what incredible people would join me on the ride,” co-founder and CEO Bjorn Billhardt said. “As I reflect on the last 10 years and the extraordinary things that are still ahead, I can’t help but feel enormous gratitude to the talented Enspirees and Houndstooth folks.”

Since it was founded in 2001, Enspire has delivered countless custom learning solutions to world-class clients, launched two off-the-shelf e-learning courses for management development, and developed and integrated dynamic business simulations – Executive Challenge and Business Challenge – into leadership development programs for Fortune 500 companies and top-tier business schools.

Keeping Austin Beautiful

Enspirees are doing their part to keep Austin beautiful. On Oct. 14, members of the Enspire team joined nearly 500 Austinites for a Fall Service Day organized by the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Central Texas. The event brought together volunteers from 20 companies for a day of beautification projects in Zilker Park.

Under the direction of Environmental Corps, Enspirees worked with volunteers from Adlucent and vcfo to remove invasive plant species from the Greenbelt. It took 60 trucks to cart away all the plants the group removed! Other service projects included:

  • Spreading 10 acres of wildflower seeds
  • Planting 8 palettes of native grasses and plants
  • Spreading 15 yards of mulch
  • Repairing and painting 8 benches and 6 tables
  • Installing a weather station
  • Building 120 feet of split-rail fence
  • Setting 120 square feet of brick trail
  • Building 3.5 tons of stone into a dry-stack wall

The Entrepreneurs Foundation was recently honored with a Keep Austin Beautiful Award for Community Involvement. The Fall Service Day marks the fourth Entrepreneurs Foundation event that Enspire has participated in. Previous projects include landscaping at local elementary schools and gardening at the Zilker Botanical Garden.

Enspire Learning Adds Seasoned Executive, Expands Northeast Presence

AUSTIN, TX – May 5, 2011 – Enspire Learning announced today the addition of David Taylor to its leadership team. Taylor will serve as Director of Strategic Alliances and will expand Enspire’s presence in the northeastern United States.

Prior to joining Enspire, Taylor was the Director of Clients and Partners at 50 Lessons, a producer of digital business lessons from global business leaders, where he provided expertise, advice and support to 50 Lessons clients and channel partners on using rich media to enhance learning experiences.

Enspire Learning Medical Simulation Wins at Training 2011

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AUSTIN, TX – Mar. 14, 2011 – Enspire Learning, a leading developer of customized training solutions, won the Role Play Interactivity Shootout held during the Training 2011 Conference & Expo in San Diego.

The winning solution was a virtual hospital developed for the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). The interactive simulation was designed to teach nurses best practices for palliative and end-of-life care. Nurses read patient files, interact with patients and their families, conduct difficult conversations, and manage their personal stress levels.

Jerry Pharr, Senior Producer at Enspire Learning, demonstrated the simulation to an audience of more than 100 learning and development professionals.
