Matt’s session will demonstrate how to create a QR code game with little technical knowledge. Attendees will begin by playing a QR code game with their mobile devices. Then, the development of each element within the game will be demonstrated. Attendees will be provided templates and instructions that will allow them to create a similar game. Finally, we will discuss how a similar game could be used in a variety of fields and projects.

In this session, you will learn:

  • How to create a basic web page using the jQuery Mobile framework
  • How to add media elements to a mobile site using HTML5
  • How to create QR codes
  • How to design a challenging and fun game that is played in the real world with mobile devices

Audience:
Novice and intermediate designers, developers, project managers, and managers. Basic HTML knowledge would be useful, but is not necessary.

Technology discussed in this session:
jQuery Mobile, HTML5, JavaScript, and QR codes.

BYOL Student Technology Needs:
A text editor, QR reader and a smartphone are required.
