1) This is probably not news to the readers of this blog, but interesting nonetheless: spacing out learning leads to increased long-term retention. Unfortunately, too many of the learning experiences we encounter at school and work mass learning events into one short timeframe. In the corporate environment, these massed experiences are often due to limitations placed on designers by learning management systems. That’s partly why the Tin Can API is so exciting.
2) I had the pleasure of meeting a few of the mobile learning folks from Qualcomm at mLearnCon. Among the many cool things their team cooking up is worklearnmobile.org. In their words: “WorkLearnMobile aims to cut through the hype and provide practical information about what it really takes to make mobile learning effective in the workplace.” The site features case studies, expert insights, and much more.
