MasterCard EDGE (Employees Driving the Global Enterprise) delivers a wealth of information to empower MasterCard employees to deliver the company’s value message.

Brief

MasterCard and Enspire teamed up to design and develop MasterCard’s first multiplatform interactive gamified training initiative called EDGE (Employees Driving the Global Enterprise). The program helps employees explain how MasterCard, as a technology company in the global payments industry, operates the world’s fastest payments processing network; connecting consumers, financial institutions, merchants, governments, and businesses in more than 210 countries and territories.

The Challenge

MasterCard needed employees around the world to articulate clearly and accurately what the organization does and how it benefits individuals and society. They needed to deliver a wealth of information to empower MasterCard employees to deliver the company’s value message. And they needed to empower employees with tools to help them talk to their community, friends, and neighbors about the business and the role it plays in the financial and technology industries.

The Solution

Enspire created EDGE. The program, aptly titled “Join the Conversation,” uses a series of challenges and interactive characters, and provide learners with insights into the MasterCard brand. The goal-based learning experience was developed in HTML5 and optimized for tablet deployment.

The program is available to all global employees, and is so successful, and has such a significant impact on the business, MasterCard incorporated it into the onboarding process for all new employees.

This program won the Brandon Hall Silver Award for Best Use of Mobile Learning, and the Award of Excellence from Diversity Journal.
